October ’25
Director’s Desk
Happy October! As fall is arriving, the students are all settling into their new classroom routines. All the children are making new friends and learning new things every day. October brings us cooler temperatures, playgrounds full of fallen colorful leaves, and our annual Pumpkin Patch Parade at the end of the month! We all look forward to the fun and learning ahead of us this month!
Best,
Kristine
Reminders
* As the weather changes from hot and humid to cool and crisp, please make sure your child has a seasonally appropriate change of clothes in their bookbags. Our building is often cooler in the morning than the afternoon. Students are welcome to bring a sweater to wear in the morning and we can put it in their bookbag as it warms up.
* Please remember to label all of your child’s belongings with their name.
* Check the lost and found basket in the front lobby – there are several lost water bottles and jackets.
* Please be mindful when pulling in / backing out during carline times. You may be stuck until we can safely get you out. Parking parallel against the curb close to the dumpster will help you merge into carline with ease.

What we are learning
2’s – The two’s unit for October will be learning “all about me”. The classes will learn through their five senses. It’s a fun unit with hearing, smelling, touching, and tasting the world around them. There will be a lot of crafts and songs!
3’s – The threes will begin the month with an in-depth look of nursery tales. The Three Pigs, The Three Bears, and The Gingerbread Man highlight this unit with much puppetry and cooking. We even grow a beanstalk for Jack to climb! They will finish the month with stories and crafts relating to Halloween!
4’s – The fours have finished the alphabet and will now move on to the study of shapes and secondary colors. They will be in engaged in a lot of color mixing using different mediums. The month will end of course with Halloween crafts and stories of Halloween!
PreK – Ms. Sandra’s PRK class will investigate and learn all about the weather-clouds, rainbows, winds, snowflakes as well as the four seasons. Halloween will wrap up the month for PRK as well! Individual instruction in phonics, letter and number recognition is ongoing.
Kindergarten- The kindergarten classes will end the transportation unit and begin the study of space! The class will take an in depth look at the solar system and our planet. The unit will finish up with an astronaut party complete with space food and helmets. We’ll of course devote some time at the end of the month to Halloween! Mixed in with all this fun the class will continue to focus on math and phonics facts.
