September ’25
Director’s Desk

Welcome back to school! We’re excited to have so many new friends joining us this year as well as seeing all of our returning friendly and familiar faces! As we move forward into the school year, our amazing teachers have so many fun activities planned as we watch all your sweet children grow. Thank you in advance for helping us make this a fantastic school year for all of your families!

Best,
Kristine

Reminders

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
* Brightwheel is our main communication method. Please make sure your notifications are turned ON so that you never miss a message, photo, or event invitation!

* All payments (monthly tuition, pizza Fridays, workbook, and rental readers) are invoiced and paid directly through your Brightwheel account. No need to ever send in cash or check! A receipt will be available in your transaction history for you to view at your convenience (including your end-of-year tax statement)

DID YOU KNOW?

You have two options when messaging through Brightwheel! If you want to communicate directly with your teacher, select ‘staff & admins’ for your message. Want to ask your teacher’s favorite color without them seeing? Have a billing question? Select ‘admins only’ when messaging and only the directors will see.

Sunscreen

If your child is a full-day student, with your permission, sunscreen will be applied at 3:00pm. The permission slip will come home on the first day of school. Please fill it out and return with your student the next day.

Want to use your own sunscreen? No problem! Come see Kristine or Jada up front for an Over-the-Counter skin product form. You can also use this same form for bug spray, should you decide that your student needs that applied in the afternoon!

Getting to know us

2’s Spotlight
Ms. Yanira & Ms. Alicia lead our tiniest twos in our ‘Mother’s Day Out’ program.

Ms. Amy & Ms. Jennifer spend the day with our fabulous five day two year olds.

Pizza Fridays

Students signed up for lunch bunch, 3:00pm, or full day students are eligible to purchase pizza each Friday. Each purchase covers pizza, vegetable, fruit, chips, cookie, and milk. You do not need to sign up – simply do not send a lunch on Fridays and we will add the $6 charge to your Brightwheel account.

CARLINE ETIQUETTE

A few reminders regarding CARLINE ETIQUETTE at Bellamy Manor School:

•Morning carline starts at 8:30am and ends at 9:00am.

•DO NOT park your vehicle in the carline lane between 8:30-9:00am

•Never leave a child unattended in a car.

•Hold your carline sign outside of the window or make sure it is placed on your dashboard where it can be easily seen during pickup time.

•If you are in the carpool line, do not walk away from your car. We will walk your child out to you and your vehicle. If possible, please have your child’s car seat on the passenger side of the car.

•We cannot allow cars to pull in and out of parking spaces during carline. If you park your car during this time we ask that you wait to pull out when carpool is over.

•NEVER PASS CARS RECEIVING OR DISCHARGING CHILDREN

•During carpool hours you must exit the parking lot by turning RIGHT only. NO LEFT TURNS DURING CARPOOL onto Providence Road.

If your child is not enrolled in our full day program or early morning drop off, please remember the earliest you may bring your little one in is at 8:30am.

Fundraising

Our very first fundraiser is getting ready to kick off. We have a wonderful partnership with Charleston Wrap. With a wide variety of heavy-duty wrapping paper, kitchen products, and an assortment of gift items, it is the perfect fundraiser that has a little something for everyone. Everything is ordered directly through your link and items are shipped to your recipients.

Your support in our fundraisers helps upgrade equipment, purchase new toys, and other things around the school. We appreciate your continued support.

Donations
We are always appreciative of any classroom supplies! The most teacher requested items are listed below:
Glue Sticks | Crayons | Stickers | Cardstock | Glue Bottles

What we are learning

2’s – The two’s will be learning All About Me through sensory experiences. They will talk about their hair, eyes and muscles etc. The teachers will focus on gross motor skills such as how to do puzzles and lacing.
3’s – The three’s will start off the year with a quick look at apples. They will learn about Johnny Appleseed, eat, paint and color apples. This will be followed by an in-depth study of shapes and colors. The grand finale will be a shape hunt at the end of the month.
4’s – The four-year-old classes devote the month of September to the alphabet. The classes will be introduced to the letter and it’s sound. There was sent home a detailed list of different snacks every day of the month in recognition of the letter they will be learning that day.
PreK – Ms. Sandra’s PRK class will also be doing a quick review of the alphabet and consonant sounds. They, too will receive an ABC calendar and snack list of the month.
Kinder – Mrs. Hobb’s kindergarten class will spend most of September studying of transportation. The unit is divided into three areas-land, sea and air. The end of the month we’ll blast off into space with an astronaut party! Mrs. Hobbs will begin assessing children for placement into workbooks and readers as well.
