November ’25
Director’s Desk
A note from the Director…
If November is even half as lovely as October, we’re in for a marvelous month!
Halloween is now a memory and so many more wonderful holidays are just around the corner! It was a delight to see the children dressed up for their Halloween programs. I thank all of you for your support during our Fall programs!
November conjures up colorful leaves and crisp days. In keeping with tradition, each class will study seasonal changes and explore what they are thankful for from their unique perspective.
Congratulations and thank you to the Katabian Family of Broad Bay. They are the top fundraiser winner for all four schools. They received a free month of tuition. The money made from the fundraiser will be used to purchase new and fun equipment for the playground. Thank you so much for all your support with the fundraiser.
We are so thankful for the wonderful families we have here at Broad Bay Manor. Our staff are falling in love with your children and are grateful for the time we get to teach them and watch them grow.
Sincerely,
Betsey Cremin

Reminders
PERSONAL ITEMS: Now that the weather is getting chillier, we are seeing lots coats, jackets and outerwear coming to school. Please label all your child’s items. This will help our teacher make sure these items make it home every day.
SICK POLICY: Parents will keep student home if student is showing signs of sickness such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other symptoms that may indicate the child is ill. Students with a fever (100.4 or higher) may not return to school until 36 hours fever free without a fever reducing medication. The school will notify parents if child becomes sick or unwell at school.
What We Are Learning
2’s- The 2-year olds have made incredible progress. It’s wonderful to see how quickly they seem to grow. They study themselves in September, look beyond themselves in October, and this month they will explore their family and homes. It’s a gradual evolution away from awareness of themselves and towards their environment. Great things are happening here. It’s exciting!
3’s- The three-year old classes begin the month with an in-depth analysis of several nursery tales. The Three Pigs, The Three Bears, and The Gingerbread Man highlight this unit with much puppetry and cooking. We even grow a beanstalk for Jack to climb! The imagination and diverse characters within these stories are perfect for their creative minds to explore.
4’s- The four-year-olds take a leap into fantasy and hop off to Mr. MacGregor’s garden to study Peter Rabbit. After they are thoroughly entranced by Benjamin Bunny, Peter Rabbit, and Jemimah PuddleDuck, the fours have a marvelous English tea party. We have a good bit of fun with this unit while introducing the children to some excellent literature.
PreK- The PreK classes will investigate the weather—clouds, rainbows, snowflakes, and wind as well as the four seasons. Ms. Moesta and Ms. Withers have designed this unit to be quite hands on while using a scientific approach to explore the causes of different types of weather. Individualized instruction in language arts and math is ongoing.
K- The kindergarten class explores nature as the original Americans found it. We learn what the Native Americans discovered when they arrived on this continent and how they adapted their lifestyles to the environment. The emphasis is on the culture, clothes, and lives of different tribes around the continent. Our month concludes with the arrival of the Pilgrims and a Thanksgiving feast.
